Welsh Soprano Glesni Rhys Jones is currently studying a master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music supported by the Hywel Davies Trust for Young Musicians. She studies with Raymond Connell and Libby Burgess. Glesni won the 2026 Under 25 Singing Competition at the National Urdd Eisteddfod of Wales.

Glesni graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2025. At the Royal Academy of Music, she has performed the roles of Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte and Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, as well as singing in the choruses of Carmen and Trial by Jury.

Deeply connected to the Welsh choral and Eisteddfod tradition, Glesni is committed to championing Welsh repertoire on national and international stages. Alongside her operatic work, she maintains an active solo career in oratorio and concert repertoire and is increasingly involved in new and contemporary music and musical leadership.
